In the United States, the Pixel 4 is the first Pixel phone offered for sale on all major wireless operators at launch. Previous flagship Pixel models were released with the exception of Verizon and Google Fi; the mid-range Pixel 3A was also available in Sprint and T-Mobile, but not in R&T, with its release. As with all other Pixel releases, Google offers the US version unlocked through its website. Models are available with 64 or 128 GB non-expandable storage. The Pixel 4A features an OLED display with HDR support, which operates at a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz (to improve battery life and performance, the refresh rate automatically accelerates to 60 Hz outside of compatible applications). Both models use a larger 19: 9 ratio, with the Pixel 4 using a 5.7-inch (145mm) 1080p panel and the 4 XL 6.3-inch (160mm) 1440p panel. Unlike the Pixel 3 XL, the Pixel 4 XL doesn't have a "notch" at the top of the screen.

They have software improvements, including "night site" mode (using astrophotography to prove it with Google) and exposure controls.

Pixel 4 comes with Android 10 .The device has several functions powered by "Pixel Neural Core" (successor to Pixel Visual Core): In addition to the current use of image processing, it is used by the new application "Recorder" (one with live transcription). Voice recorder and "new" Google Assistant, so that local commands on the device are more accessible to the client. Improvements to recognize the person (other than required to be sent to Google servers to query).
