The triple cameras on the iPhone 11 Pro Max now give Apple the best camera phone, thanks to its great Night mode and improved Smart HDR. Check our iPhone 11 Pro vs Pixel 4 camera face-off. The cameras also shoot gorgeous-looking 4K video with extended dynamic range and cinematic video stabilization. They are the flagships of the 13th generation of the iPhone, succeeding the iPhone XS and XS Max, respectively. Apple CEO Tim Cook presented the devices along with a low-end model, the iPhone 11, on September 10, 2019, at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park. Advance orders began on September 13, 2019 and went on sale on September 20.

Design

The iPhone 11 Pro max is available in Gold, Silver, Space Gray and Midnight Green, a new color not found on the iPhone before. Similar to the iPhone XS, there is a screen cutout on the front that includes a 12MP TruePath camera and speaker system. There is also a new rear camera design with 3 cameras and a large, square-shaped bump with a flash, which is the most visible difference compared to the iPhone XS. The Apple logo is now centered on the back of the device without text, and the glass has a humid matte finish, unlike the glossy finish found on other glass-backed iPhones.

Display

The iPhone 11 Pro max has a 5.8-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2436 × 1125 pixels (458 ppi), while the iPhone 11 Pro Max has a 6.5-inch OLED screen and a resolution of 2688 × 1242 pixels (458 ppi). Both models have an XDR Super Retina display with 2, 2, 3: 1 contrast ratio, and the top of the Trudepath camera and speaker system. Apple has described the screen as having a "mini Apple Pro Display XDR" on a phone. They have a true tone and a large color screen that supports HDR with 800 Nits standard brightness and 1200 Nights maximum brightness when needed. The screen has an oleophobic fingerprint resistant cover.

Camera

The iPhone 11 Pro Max includes a 12MP rear camera array with triple lenses. There is an ultra-wide angle f / 2.4 lens with 120 degree viewing area and a 2x optical zoom, an f / 1.8 wide angle lens and a f / 2.0  camera with 2x optical zoom. The iPhone 11 Pro supports up to 60k 4pp video up to a maximum and 4K video at slow speeds of up to 60 pps.

This smartphone has a 12MP TruePath front camera with F / 2.0 aperture. There is an explosion mode, image stabilization, HDR and a portrait mode with support for enhanced bokeh effect. The front camera supports 4K video recording up to 60 fps. Apple has added slow motion video recordings up to 120 fps on the front camera for up to 8pp, a feature that Apple refers to as "Sloofies." Like the previous iPhone model, the Trudeepath system is also used for Face ID and Animoji.
